Quickest way to create a new document in Google Docs directly from Gmail by enable the "Create new Document" on Gmail Labs and activate the Keyboard shortcuts, and press g then w to open the new blank document.
You can convert the Gmail messages in to document without copy and past it. Just open your message and click "create new document" link on the right side of the page it will open a brand new document you can modify and share it.
